Activities

Camp Columba offers a range of adventure activities on site with programs also operating off-site.  Activities are available to all groups that visit us but they must be pre-booked.  Some adventure activities require a qualified instructor, some require speacialist supervision and some require adult supervision.

Water slide
Slip and slide away down the hill.  It's wet, it's fast, it's fun!  An adult supervisor is all that's needed for this activity.

Flying Fox
Here's a classic example of how much fun you can have when you overcome your fears.  Step off the tower and enjoy the ride. After you have one go, go again and see if you can drop the ball in the bucket on your way by. It's not as easy as it sounds. This is now an instructed activity with an 80kg weight limit.

Raft Building
We provide the materials, you provide the know how. Once you've built your floating monstrosity, put it in the water and take up the challenge of rescuing half of your group from the other side of the pond. Be quick, the clock is ticking. The activity requires two adults who are competent swimmers.

Horizontal Bungee
Get nice and low and stretch out as far as you can. Try and make the furtherest mark to reach. This is an adult supervised activity.
Picture
Climbing
Our climbing wall angles so that you can either overhang or underhang!  Four different climbs offering varying degrees of difficulty are available. The climbing wall requires an instructor to make sure everything is safe.
Picture
Speed slide
Slip into one of our sacks and be prepared to get some serious air.  Once you go down, you'll want to do it again.  An adult is required to supervise the slide.

Picture
Kayaking
We have a pond on-site that is the perfect spot to learn to paddle. You will hone your paddling technique and gain confidence in your skills under the watchful eye of an instructor through skill development disguised as games.
Picture
High Ropes
Our high ropes course will challenge you like you've never been challenged before, whether it's jumping off a pole into the unknown or sitting on a toilet seat 10 meters in the air. Try out the Postie Walk, the Multi-vine, the Buoy Walk or play on our Vertical Play Pen. This is a great activity for those Y7 and above. An instructor is required for this activity.
Picture
Abseiling
We have three different abseil sites - a 4 metre starting wall, our abseil tower and our natural rock face. An instructor is required for this activity.
Picture
Team Building
We have a whole lot of fun team building activities in the forest. Can you get your whole team safely through the spider web and across the lake of burning lava? These are great activities for helping develop communication, team work, problem-solving and trust amongst group members.

Air Rifles
Hone your shooting skills on our air rifle range - can you hit a bulls eye? This is an adult supervised activity (with a gun license) and goes well with our archery activity! Are you James Bond or William Tell?

Picture
Bonfire/Outdoor Cooking
Bring your own ingredients to make tasty damper or roast marshmallows over a warming fire - nothing tastes as good as when it's char-coaled on the end of a stick and sampled in the great outdoors.
Picture
Flying Weka
Spread out your arms as your team mates haul you into the air on a pulley - be a bird, or a plane, or even superman as you defy gravity on our newest adventure activity! You'll need an instructor and a few buddies for this activity (a team of 5 year-olds can pull up an adult!).
Picture
Bush Craft
Bush craft looks at the environment care code, hypothermia, how to build a stretcher from just a piece of rope and bivvy-making. Adult supervision is required.
Picture
Rotating (Motorised) Climbing Wall
Embrace the challenge - and the never-ending climb! Try to keep up with the conveyor - this is a great test of quick-thinking, snap decisions, brave commitment and endurance! Great team-bonding as you support each other, yelling out advice and encouragement for the one on the wall. This is an adult-supervised activity.
